The problem

In a racing car, the bulkhead that separates the engine compartment from the passenger compartment transmits the heat generated by the engine inside the cabin. This transmission heats the air in the passenger compartment to the point that it is necessary to use measures to cool the drivers. Usually particular suits are used, not very flexible and very thick, which reduce the reactivity of the pilot wearing them and the range of his movements.

The solution

The Teknofibra® thermo-reflective panel can be easily applied to the firewall thanks to its heat-resistant adhesive layer. The application of the Teknofibra® thermo-reflective panel to the firewall drastically reduces the heat present inside the passenger compartment, creating greater driving comfort. In some cases, a reduction in temperature of 16 ° C was seen. This reduction in temperature inside the cockpit allowed the driver to remove the coolant suit, thus gaining greater freedom of movement and greater reactivity. Using the Teknofibra® aluminum tape to seal the edges eliminates the possibility of infiltration of liquids inside the panels.
