Close contact between the engine and fuel lines promotes overheating of the liquid, exposing it to the risk of the "vapor lock" effect. Teknofibra® allows the fuel lines to be insulated and protected, eliminating the risk of "vapor lock".
A lot of heat and little ventilation
Fuel lines are often forced to stay in close contact with engine components. In aircraft, where spaces are considerably reduced, this problem is even more pronounced. The contact with the engine components, in addition to causing the degradation of the materials of the fuel lines, heavily affects the temperature of the fuel itself which, in turn, drastically reduces the performance of the engine. In the event of overheating, liquid fuel can rapidly pass into a gaseous state causing the dreaded “vapor lock” effect.

Teknofibra® heat-reflecting panel
The best way to thermally insulate fuel lines is to use Teknofibra® thermo-reflective sheaths. With a weight starting from only 22gr / m, they do not affect the overall weight of the aircraft and at the same time offer a barrier to heat. Their tubular shape allows a much faster assembly and a resistance and effectiveness far superior to the classic "bandage". Teknofibra® thermo-reflective sheaths offer high heat protection for fuel, oil, water and air lines, allowing fluid temperatures to be stabilized. Cooler fuel offers better performance and prevents vapor lock.
